Canada Shoots For Gold
By Brobury Sports

Bet The 2010 Winter Olympics

The 2010 Winter Olympics will hold their opening ceremonies in Vancouver, Canada Friday night and nobody has more odds and props than BroburySports.com.

Pick a team/player now at BroburySports and get a big return from a small stake.

Ice Hockey

Canada (-200) is the favorite on its home ice and why shouldn’t they be with superstar Sidney Crosby on the roster along with goalie Martin Brodeur?

The big downside is the huge amount of pressure they have playing in front of the home fans. Canada last won the gold in Salt Lake City eight years ago. It was their first gold in 50 years.

Russia (+200) is next on the list and they have an impressive roster of its own with Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin leading the way.

USA and Sweden are further down at +600 each. USA may be a little overrated at these odds, despite having lots of recognizable NHL names. Sweden doesn’t have as much name recognition, but the defending champs look stronger than the Americans.

Alpine Skiing Downhill

Switzerland’s Didier Cuche is the favorite for this event at +300, followed closely by Austria’s Michael Walchhofer (+400). American Bode Miller is a reasonable +1000.

Miller, an outspoken New Hampshire native, is obviously a major story after his failures in the last Olympics. He’s listed at +1500 in the Giant Slalom and +900 in the Super G. It will be a worldwide story if he comes home with a gold medal.

Ski Jumping

Austria is the heavy favorite at -300. Finland (+200), Norway (+400) and Germany (+800) look to capitalize on their favorable history in this event. One long shot to watch out for is Japan (+2000).

Speed Skating

Sven Kramer (-250) is the heavy favorite in the 5000M. He’s the even heavier favorite (-500) in the 1000M. While the Dutch champion is worthy of such respect, it leaves open many other skaters at enticing odds.
