Friday's Best World Cup Bets
Brazil (-102) vs. Netherlands (+349, 2.5)
This is the quarterfinal matchup footy fans have been waiting for since the World Cup draw was first announced, and rightfully so. Few nations can make kicking a ball look as beautiful as the Brazilians or Dutch.
Brazil has been criticized for not playing with the same type of flash it has in years past but spectators have still witnessed the five-time champions score multiple times in all but one of their four matches in the tournament.
Going against a quick-striking team like the Oranje, Brazil may play closer to the style preferred by conservative manager Dunga. Expect Brazil to play with much more restraint, particularly if they score the match’s first goal.
Pick: Under
Uruguay (+112) vs. Ghana (+320, 2)
No African team has ever advanced to a World Cup semifinal. Can Ghana be the first to break through in the first World Cup held on African soil?
We don’t think so. Sure, the crowd will undoubtedly be behind the Black Stars, but does that even make a difference with all those vuvuzela horns blasting?
Ghana were beyond lucky to make it this far without Michael Essien but without star striker Asamoah Gyan fully fit, the crowd favorites don’t have a chance against Diego Forlan and Company.
Pick: Uruguay
