Monday's Best Bet: Spring Steen ready to rock in Miranda Diane
By Jarrod Horak
Monday’s 9th race from Will Rogers Downs is the Miranda Diane Stakes for Oklahoma-bred fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on the main track (Post Time 6:15 p.m. ET).
#2 SPRING STEEN (4-1) romped in this race last year, but dropped her final three starts of 2019, and returned with a flat 6th in the local Wilma Mankiller Stakes April 6. Ry Eiklebery is probably sending her to the front.
#10 Lady Orchid (5-1) is Spring Steen’s stablemate, and she finished 7th in the Wilma Mankiller. She starts five times last year with four wins and a 2nd, and she projects an outside stalking trip.
#6 Three Chords (2-1) exits a close-up 4th in a competitive optional claiming sprint at Oaklawn Park. She captured a state bred stakes race at Remington Park last fall, and she will probably track the pace.
#8 She’s Shiney (6-1) can move forward after an okay 4th in the Wilma Mankiller. The competent dirt sprinter should be forwardly placed.
