Tuesday's Best Bet: Caney's Ghost set to route in Will Rogers Stakes
by Jarrod Horak April 20, 2020
Tuesday’s 5th race from Will Rogers Downs is the Will Rogers Stakes for Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time 4:15 p.m. ET).
#6 CANEY’S GHOST (3-1) ran well in all three sprints including a sharp local allowance victory March 25. David Cabrera was aboard for his first two outings, and he should make his presence felt throughout from the outside post.
#3 Great Faces (5-2) probably did not care for the slop at Oaklawn Park last time. He ran well in his first two starts at this distance on fast ground, and should be forwardly placed.
#1 November Mike (6-1) is still a maiden after seven starts, but the new gelding finished 2nd in his lone start at one mile, and exits a good 3rd in a local sprint. He might move forward in his third start after a layoff.
#5 Southgate (2-1) has plenty of stakes experience but has dropped six straight, and is 0-for-2 at one mile.
Wagers:
#6 to win
Quinella 3-6
Trifecta 3-6/1-3-5-6/1-3-5-6
