Over the last 18 months or so I have spent most of my time and considerable expense upgrading TheSpread.com. The date has almost arrived when we will reveal this upgrade to all of you.

We don’t have the specific date just yet but it will be sometime within the next week to 10 days. Switching the current site to the new site will be a pretty large feat given the size of TheSpread.com.

I am not really sure if some of the visitors here realize that we are the largest site like this in the United States and the third largest site like this in the world. What that basically means is that in addition to all the upgrades and improvements we have made to TheSpread.com, hundreds of thousands of existing pages need to be converted into the new framework we built.

During the conversion process there is going to be an extended period of time when the site is offline. There is nothing that can be done to keep the site online while the conversion takes place. Since we have never tackled anything like this before, nobody can really tell me how long this is going to take. We will be shooting for 12 hours but in reality it could be a lot more than that to get everything working correctly.

I would ask everyone for their patience during this time. I know that some will be upset they can’t access the content they are used to enjoying here on a daily basis and all I can tell you is that this brief interruption will be well worth it and I apologize for the inconvenience it may cause. Bear with me, and you will be rewarded with something much, much better, I promise.

The other important thing about this change I need everyone to know in advance is that EVERYONE WILL NEED TO RESET THEIR PASSWORDS. This is something that cannot be avoided and applies to everyone whether that be forum posters, newsletter subscribers or website contributors. The new TheSpread.com will use a universal account system so everyone will be able to manage all the membership features of the site (newsletters, forum, etc.) with a single username and password.

When you visit the new TheSpread.com website for the first time and want to login, you will need to go through the process of requesting a new password before you will be able to access any content that requires you to be logged in.

IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE RESETTING YOUR PASSWORD, we will be happy to help you. All you have to do is email us using the CONTACT US form or calling our toll free number.

I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve built and hear your feedback. Thanks to everyone who has been loyal to this site and allowed me to make enough money to do this for all of you.
