Kentucky Derby 135 Odds: At 13/2 Oddsmakers Give Friesan Fire Outside Shot
One of the hottest thoroughbreds to enter the 2009 Kentucky Derby is Friesan Fire, whose odds have been established at 13/2 to win this Saturday.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have established Friesan Fire as a small 13/2 long shot to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby. And outside of maybe current 2009 Kentucky Derby favorite I Want Revenge, no thoroughbred has had a better start to the season than Friesan Fire.
In his last three races, Friesan Fire has placed first in all three showings. On March 14, he placed first at the Louisiana Derby and before that, he had a first place showing at the Risen Star S. on February 7. He also won the Lecomte S. race at the Fair Grounds on January 10, which was his first running of the season.
Trainer Larry Jones has stated that he plans on using the same training techniques with Friesan Fire as he did two years ago with Hard Spun, who finished second to Street Sense at the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby.
Friesan Fire has the third best odds to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby at 13/2. Those odds follow current favorite I Want Revenge (5/2) and Dunkirk, whose odds have been established at 9/2. Pioneerof the Nile (6/1) and Chocolate Candy (14/1) round at the top 5.
