Kentucky Derby 136 Odds: Noble’s Promise a Sleeper at 10/1 to Win
Noble’s Promise could emerge as one of the sleeper contenders to win the 2010 Kentucky Derby, which takes place this Saturday at Churchill Downs.
Noble’s Promise struggled in his last race, which resulted in a fifth place finish at the Arkansas Derby on April 10. However, he did place second at Rebel on March 13 and second at CashCall Futurity on December 19 of last year. The 3-year-old colt also placed third at the Breeders’ Cup in November of last year and won the Breeders’ Futurity on October 10.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made Noble’s Promise 10/1 to win the 136th running of the Kentucky Derby. He trails Lookin at Lucky (2/1) and Sidney’s Candy (3/1) in odds to win.
The most intriguing thing about Noble’s Promise is that he’s already edged out Kentucky Derby contenders Dublin (also 10/1) and Make Music for Me (40/1) in previous races. The troubling part is that is that he’s failed to beat Lookin at Lucky in at least two previous outings and thus, the Kentucky Derby favorite might have Noble’s Promise’s number.
