Kentucky Derby 136 Odds: Rusty Homeboykris 35/1 to Win in 2010
Homeboykris will be looking to overcome a nine-week layoff when he competes this Saturday in the 2010 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. Let’s take a look at his odds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have enlisted Homeboykris as a 35/1 long shot to beat Kentucky Derby 136 favorite Lookin at Lucky (7/2) this Saturday. Sidney’s Candy has the next best odds this weekend at 6/1.
As previously noted, Homeboykris has not raced since a second place showing in an allowance at Gulstream on February 27. He only has two starts this year without a stakes win and his best Beyer is an 89, which won’t give bettors confidence entering this Saturday’s race.
That said, he did run four starts as a juvenile (six starts total) and has shown an ability to come from off the pace. And while he doesn’t show any definitive reasons for being a Kentucky Derby contender, he has shown flashes of brilliance in the past. (Most notably in back to back wins on July 11 and October 10 of last year.)
