Kentucky Derby 136 Odds: Super Saver 10/1 to Win According to Oddsmakers
The 136th running of the Kentucky Derby takes place on Saturday and one of the potential sleeper contenders is Super Saver, who has run well the past couple weeks.
Super Saver is a relatively hot horse entering Saturday’s race at Churchill Downs. He finished second at the Arkansas Derby (although it’s fair to note that he was the favorite in that race), third at the Tampa Bay Derby and first at the Kentucky Jockey Club.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction have made Super Saver 10/1 to win the 2010 Kentucky Derby. Lookin at Lucky is a 2/1 favorite to win the race, while Sidney’s Candy is right behind him at 3/1. Dublin, Awesome Act, Ice Box and Noble’s Promise all have 10/1 odds as well.
Super Saver’s last race might be a good indication of how he stacks up against the competition in the Kentucky Derby. While he lost to Line Of David (20/1) at the Arkansas Derby, he did edge out Dublin. Considering he was a favorite at the Arkansas Derby, one could chalk up the results as either Line of David had a good day, or Super Saver was a little off. Based on the odds for this weekend, the latter might be more accurate.
Super Saver is a 3-year-old colt that comes from the pedigree of Maria’s Mon and Supercharger by A.P. Indy.
