Preakness 135 Odds – Schoolyard Dreams 12-1 to Win in 2010
If previous race history is any indication, than 2010 Preakness Stakes contender Schoolyard Dreams could be a horse to watch out for this Saturday.

Schoolyard Dreams is coming off a fourth place finish at the G1 Wood Memorial on April 3, losing out to Kentucky Derby opening favorite Eskendereya, fellow Preakness Stakes contender Jackson Bend and Derby participant Awesome Act. But before that outing, Schoolyard Dreams finished in the money at two G3 races, including the Tampa Bay Derby on March 13 and the Sam F. Davis on February 13.
Opening Odds
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made Schoolyard Dreams a 12/1 long shot to win the 135th running of the Preakness Stakes. Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver is a 2/1 favorite this Saturday, while Paddy O’prado is 3/1 and Lookin at Lucky is 4/1.
Early Analysis
While he has the ability to stalk the pace, Schoolyard Dreams is coming off a six-week layoff and a poor prep. He also hasn’t won a stakes race in his career, didn’t race in the Kentucky Derby and has a best Beyer of 94. While his back-to-back second place showings in G3 races in February and March are encouraging, Schoolyard Dreams failed to impress at the G1 Wood Memorial and the poor outing might be an indication of what’s to come on Saturday at Pimlico Race Course. If you like basing your wagers on post position, than you won’t like Schoolyard Dreams. He’ll start in the No. 2 post, which hasn’t faired well in recent history.
