One of the featured bouts of Saturday’s UFC 108 is a lightweight contest between Joe Lauzon and Sam Stout.

Lauzon is favored heading into this fight with a money line of -270 according to online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Stout’s line has been set at +205. Here is a closer look at both fighters heading into this featured bout, which will take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on Saturday at 10PM ET on Pay-Per View.

Joe Lauzon (18-4)

Strengths: Lauzon is a good, well-rounded fighter that has powerful punches but is also very comfortable on the ground. He has a very stern demeanor and never shows much, if any emotion in his fights. Lauzon has spent a lot of his career training with B.J. Penn and has been constantly improving his game.

Weaknesses: Lauzon doesn’t have a lot of weaknesses, he just isn’t elite at any one area. His boxing is good, but not great. His wrestling is good, but not great, and the same can be said for his submission skills. In this fight, he will likely not be as crisp of a striker as Stout, but still may have equal power in his hands.

Last Five Fights:

Second round submission win over Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night 17 on Feb. 7, 2009

Second round TKO win over Kyle Bradley at UFC Fight Night 15 on Sept. 17, 2008

Second round TKO loss to Kenny Florian at UFC Fight Night 13 on April 2, 2008

First round submission win over Jason Reinhardt at UFC 78 on Nov. 17, 2007

Second round submission win over Brandon Melendez at The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale on June 23, 2007

Sam Stout (14-5-1)

Strengths: Stout is a great boxer with some good kicks. Stout’s nickname of “Hands of Stone” tells the story as he is primarily a striker and uses his quick hands to out-strike his opponents. Despite being primarily a boxer, Stout hasn’t been able to finish a lot of opponents from his striking.

Weaknesses: The blueprint to beating Stout has been pretty simple, take him to the ground and submit him. Stout has struggled to defend from the bottom in his career and has relied on his boxing to earn him decision wins. While he has done well, in a fight with Lauzon, Stout is going to have to be able to defend the takedown or fight off his back at one point in the fight.

Last Five Fights:

Unanimous decision win over Matt Wiman at UFC 97 on April 18, 2009

Unanimous decision loss to Terry Etim at UFC 89 on Oct. 18, 2008

Split decision loss to Rich Clementi at UFC 83 on April 19, 2008

Unanimous decision win over Per Eklund at UFC 80 on Jan. 19, 2008

First round KO win over Martin Grandmont at TKO 30 on Sept. 28, 2007

Who will win: Lauzon seems to have this fight well within his grasp as he is light years ahead of Stout on the ground, and has comparable striking skills. The only way Lauzon can lose this fight is to be determined to win a stand up war and get out-boxed by Stout. Lauzon is too smart for this, and will decisively beat Stout with a second round submission.
