UFC 108 Odds To Win: MMA Betting Matchups & Fight Card
UFC 108: Evans vs. Silva takes place Saturday, Jan. 2 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Saturday’s main card, which will air on Pay Per-View live at 10PM ET features five fights. Here is a look at the featured bouts.
Light Heavyweights contenders collide
The main event of UFC 108 and is a light heavyweight match between Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva. Evans is a former UFC champion and is coming off a loss to current champion Lyoto Machida at UFC 98. Evans has since coached the most recent Ultimate Fighter against Quinton Jackson, but Jackson’s decision to film a movie has forced Evans to have to fight Silva. Silva is coming off a first round knockout of Keith Jardine. Prior to the win over Jardine, Silva also lost to Machida. This fight is expected to be a stand up war as both fighters have strong striking ability. Evans, who was a college wrestler at Michigan State, could look to take the fight to the ground since he was knocked out in his last fight. Evans is favored in the fight with a line of -200 while Silva stands at +160.
Welterweight showdown
The Co-headliner of Saturday’s card is a welterweight match between Dustin Hazelett and Paul Daley. Hazelett is a slight favorite with a money line of -120 while Daley is at -110. Hazelett is stepping into the fight on short notice for Carlos Condit, who was originally schedule to meet Daley. Daley is coming off an impressive TKO win over Martin Kampmann at UFC 103. Hazelett has won his last two fights and five of his last six. His last two victories were submission wins over Tamdan McCrory and Josh Burkman. Hazelett will be looking to get this fight to the ground while Daley clearly wants to strike. The key in this fight will be for Hazelett to survive the opening minutes of the fight where Daley likes to come out swinging.
