UFC 109 Odds To Win: MMA Betting Matchups & Fight Card
UFC 109: Relentless takes place Saturday, Feb. 6 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. and the main event features two Hall of Famers.
Saturday’s main card, which will air on Pay Per-View live at 10PM ET features five fights. Here is a look at the featured bouts.
Hall of Famers Collide
The main event of Saturday’s card is between UFC Hall of Famers Randy Couture and Mark Coleman. Both fighters have been heavyweight champions during their career, but are now fighting at light heavyweight (205 pounds). Both fighters are coming off wins and both are still trying to keep their careers meaningful. This fight marks the first time that two active members of the Hall of Fame will meet in the octagon. Couture has been favored with a betting line of -450, while Coleman is at +325. Both men are certainly past the peak of their career, as Couture is 46 and Coleman is 45. Couture is in his second run at light heavyweight, having been a two-time champion in this division. He is coming off a close decision win over Brandon Vera and a win would put him into the top five among title contenders. Coleman is coming off a decision win over Stephan Bonnar at UFC 100 and a win over Couture would be one of the biggest in his career.
Marquardt looks for No. 1 Contender Status
In the co-main event, middleweights Nate Marquardt and Chael Sonnen meet. Marquardt can cement his status as No. 1 contender for the middleweight championship with a win, while Sonnen can become a top contender with an upset victory. Marquardt is favored with a betting line of -350 while Sonnen has been given a line of +250. Marquardt has won three-straight fights, including a 21-second knockout of Demian Maia at UFC 102. Marquardt has faced tougher competition as of late and his all-around style makes him a dangerous fighter no matter where the fight is. Sonnen is a scrapper that has won two-straight, including a surprising win over Yushin Okami at UFC 104. A wrestler by nature, Sonnen can take a punch, but likes to control his opponents on the ground.
