UFC 111 Odds To Win: MMA Betting Matchups & Fight Card

St. Pierre vs. Hardy takes place Saturday, March 27 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey with a main card that features two championship fights.

Saturday’s main card, which will air on Pay Per-View live at 10PM ET features five fights. Here is a look at the featured bouts.

Bet UFC 111

UFC Welterweight Championship

The main event of Saturday’s card is for the UFC Welterweight Championship (170 lbs.) featuring champion Georges St. Pierre and challenger Dan Hardy. St. Pierre is the overwhelming favorite with a money line of -800 while Hardy comes in at +550. St. Pierre is widely considered one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world and perhaps the best athlete in all of mixed martial arts. St. Pierre is 19-2 in his career. His balanced attack, of punches, kicks, takedowns, and submissions make him dangerous in any position, but he faces an opponent that has been an underdog in all of his fights. Hardy is 23-6 in his career and 4-0 in the UFC. He has the ability to knockout anyone, but he certainly lacks the overall skills of St. Pierre.

UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship

In the co-main event, Frank Mir and Shane Carwin will meet for the UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship (265 lbs.). The winner of this fight will take on UFC Champion Brock Lesnar this summer. Mir is a slight favorite with a line of -170 while Carwin is at +140. Mir is a former UFC heavyweight and interim heavyweight champion. He has tremendous submission skills and has greatly improved his striking in the last few years. Mir is 13-4 in his career. Carwin is 11-0 in MMA and 3-0 in the UFC with all of his fights ending by knockout in the first 91 seconds of the fight. Carwin has heavy hands but he has yet to be tested or put in an adverse situation and knowing how he will respond to that is important before crowning him as one of the top heavyweights. If Mir tries to exchange often with Carwin, that will likely give Carwin another win, but if Mir can get the fight to the ground, then we will see just where Carwin’s skills are.
