UFC 118 Odds To Win - MMA Betting Matchups & Fight Card
UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn 2 takes place Saturday, August 28 from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts and features a lightweight championship bout.
Saturday’s main card, which will air on Pay Per-View live at 10PM ET features five fights. Here is a look at the main event bouts.
Edgar vs. Penn 2
The main event of Saturday’s card is for the UFC Lightweight Championship when champion Frankie Edgar (12-2) makes his first title defense when he takes on the man whom he beat for the title, B.J. Penn (15-6-1). This fight was a rematch from UFC 112 when Edgar won a controversial decision over Penn. While Edgar fought a good fight, it wasn’t clear cut that he defeated Penn. In the rematch, Penn is still the large favorite with a betting line of -320, while Edgar has a line of +230. Edgar has the speed to compete with Penn, and it was his movement and takedowns that allowed him to get the win. This time around, Penn should be motivated to fight and will probably be more aggressive than he was in the first contest.
MMA vs. Boxing
The co-main event of Saturday’s event is a battle between UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture (18-10-2) and boxer James Toney (0-0). This fight is being billed as MMA vs. Boxing as Toney is the first boxing champion to step into the octagon. Couture is the favorite to win this fight with a line of -675 while Toney has a line of +475. Couture is a wrestler that will look to get Toney to the ground, where it would be expected that Toney will have no way to defend himself. If the fight stays on its feet, Toney will have the clear edge.
