STOCKHOLM, Sweden (The Spread) – Two middleweights are desperate for a win tonight when Gegard Mousasi meets Dan Henderson. Which one will come out on top?
Mousasi (35-5-2) has lost two of his last three fights, both to top-5 middleweights. Henderson (30-12) has lost four of his last five and is making a return to 185 pounds after struggling at 205. Both men rely on striking, but Henderson is more of a 1-punch striker while Mousasi has more technique.
The latest odds according to oddsmakers at BetDSI have Mousasi as the clear favorite in this fight, as he is getting odds of -550 to prevail, while Henderson is getting a money line of +375 to win. These two will meet in the co-main event tonight from Stockholm. The main card airs on FOX at 8PM ET.
This fight could go either way. Mousasi has had some struggles against powerful strikers and wrestlers, which are skills that Henderson has. However, Henderson has looked very old and slow in recent years. Even in just a three-round fight, Henderson has really struggled to maintain strong conditioning for his fights. If Mousasi survives the first five minutes, the fight is his. In this case, I think he will. Mousasi moves well in the cage and should be able to avoid the big right from Henderson. After the first round, look for Mousasi to pick apart Henderson and earn a decision.
