Wimbledon Odds: Day 1 Preview and Match Analysis
By Covers.com

We normally get some freelance help for tennis coverage but the Covers editorial staff wanted the honor of posting losing leans throughout Wimbledon. We’ll keep track of just how awful we do and please, jump in and tell us your favorite plays.

David Nalbandian (+132) vs. Janko Tipsarevic (-146)

Fair to assume Nalbandian won’t be getting any favors from the officials. Not after he super-kicked a sign that resulted in a bloodied line judge at the Queen’s Club final. His outburst disqualified him from the title match and halted any discussion about the Argentinian’s strong performance at the Wimbledon warm up.

Nalbandian won five straight on grass and owns a respectable record against the higher ranked Tipsarevic. Can’t turn down the value here on the eighth seed in the first round. The 30-year-old Nalbandian will struggle if this goes to four or five sets.

Pick: Tipsarevic

Ryan Harrison (-147) vs. Ten-Hsun Lu (+133)

American tennis fans are hoping Harrison can lead the next generation of U.S. players. The talent is definitely there but the results have been mixed so far. Easy to forget the youngster is just 20 years old.

Short chalk and he beat Lu in straight sets in a Wimbledon warm up only a week ago.

Pick: Harrison
