Brian Baker (-116) vs. Jarkko Nieminen (+105)

Hard not to root for Brian Baker. The 27-year-old American was once the ranked second in the world as a junior but injuries to his hips, elbow and a hernia had him off the tour for the better part of five years.

His game is rounding into shape nicely this season even if his world ranking isn’t anything to write home about. He’s been smoking hot in qualifiers, going 13-5 this season and he faces a player who might be allergic to grass.

Nieminen lost in the first round of both his Wimbley warm-ups and he hasn’t had a winning year on grass since 2007.

Advantage: Baker

Lukas Lacko (+200) vs. Jurgen Melzer (-224)

We like the way Lacko has been playing lately. He got in a good amount of practice on this surface in the lead-up to Wimbledon and he made short work of his first round opponent.

Melzer upset Wawrinka in the first round, but it took him five long sets (8-6 in the fifth) to move on.

Advantage: Lacko
