In the Ryder Cup, each individual player has the opportunity to win a maximum of 5 points and that is only if they play during all five portions of the competition. A player can earn a point by winning any of the four team events and also a point in the individual match play on Sunday.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL, Mickelson has been given a betting line of +110 to score either Under 2 points or Over 2 points while he also has a line of +550 to score exactly 2 points this weekend.
Mickelson has competed in seven Ryder Cups in his history, playing a total of 30 matches during his career. In his 30 matches, he has a record of 10-14-6, for a total of 13 points. He averages 1.85 points per Ryder Cup.
Mickelson has a losing record in every category of the Ryder Cup, be he has scored the most points in fourball, where he is 5-6-2 for a total of 6 points.
It is not clear how U.S. captain Corey Pavin will use Mickelson. He plays in most all matches, but did get benched in the 2008 event. Mickelson is likely to have a chance to score 5 points, but it is unclear who he will be paired up with in team events.
