Ryder Cup – Points For Stricker
Steve Stricker is playing in just his second Ryder Cup, but the American is expected to do big things for the team this weekend.
In the Ryder Cup, each individual player has the opportunity to win a maximum of five points and that is only if they play during all five portions of the competition. A player can earn a point by winning any of the four team events and also a point in the individual match play on Sunday.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have given Stricker a betting line of even to score more than 2 points while under 2 points has a line of +120 and exactly 2 has a line of +550.
In his previous Ryder Cup in 2008, Stricker went just 0-2-1, earning ½ a point for the U.S. in a team victory. His half point was scored in fourball.
Stricker is the fourth-ranked golfer in the world. He has two wins in 2010 and nine top-10 finishes. He has been very consistent and should be competitive this weekend.
Speculation is that Stricker will be paired with Tiger Woods during team matches, as the two are friends and captain Corey Pavin wants to have Woods playing with someone he is comfortable with. That would give Stricker an opportunity to play in all five stages and also be paired with the world’s top golfer.
