British Open Odds
SANDWICH, ENGLAND (TheSpread) – The 2011 British Open is the third major championship of the year and Rory McIlroy is looks to repeat his dominant performance from the U.S. Open.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog, McIlroy is the favorite to win this year’s tournament with 9/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Lee Westwood (7/1), Luke Donald (18/1), and Sergio Garcia (18/1).
McIlroy is fourth in the world rankings. He is coming off a win in the U.S. Open and he has finished in the top 10 in three of his last four tournaments. McIlroy has played in the British Open three times and finished third last year.
Westwood is second in the world rankings. He has placed in the top 11 in his last seven tournaments, which includes two wins. Westwood has never won a major. His best finish at the British Open is third, which was last year. He has placed in the top 10 of this event four times.
Donald is first in the world rankings. He is coming off a win overseas and has placed in the top 10 in 16 of his last 18 tournaments, which includes three wins. Donald has finished in the top 10 of the British Open one time and finished 11th last year. He has never won a major championship.
Garcia is 53rd in the world rankings, but he has played well this year, picking up four top 10’s. He has never won a major in his career, but he has finished in the top 10 of this tournament seven times, including a seventh-place finish last year.
The 2011 British Open will be played at Royal St. George in Sandwich, England and runs from Thursday, July 14 to Sunday, July 17.
