IRVING, TX (TheSpread) – The 2011 HP Byron Nelson Championship is one of the annual marquee events on the PGA Tour and it tees off on Thursday.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com, four golfers are favored with 16/1 odds to win. Those four golfers are K.J. Choi, Dustin Johnson, Nick Watney, and Jason Day.

Day is the defending tournament champion, as he shot a 10-under 270 to win the title last season. Day has five top 10’s in 2011 and has made his last four cuts. His worst finish on the year is 51^st while his best is second.

Johnson is 13^th in the world rankings right now but he has had a rough stretch as of late. He has missed two of his last five cuts and finished 38^th or worse in two of the other three tournaments. Johnson did finish seventh in this event a year ago.

Watney is 15^th in the world rankings and he has six top 10’s this year. He has just one missed cut on the year and has only finished worse than 20^th in two of 10 events he has played in in 2011.

Choi is 16^th in the world rankings. He is on a hot streak right now as he has finished 12^th or better in his last five tournament, including one victory.

The 2011 HP Byron Nelson Championship will be played at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas and run from Thursday, May 26 to Sunday, May 29.
