Kuchar vs. Johnson Odds
AUGUSTA, GA (TheSpread) – Matt Kuchar and Dustin Johnson are two of the top golfers to have never won a major championship. Which of these two will come closer to ending that claim at the 2011 Masters?
According to online sportsbook Bodog.com Kuchar is the favorite to top Johnson in this matchup as Kuchar has odds of -125 while Johnson has odds of -105.
Kuchar is ranked 10th in the world rankings. Kuchar played in the 2010 Masters, which was his first since 2002. Kuchar placed 25th last year and finished in the top 10 in two of the four majors last year. In 2011, Kuchar has finished in the top 10 in six of his eight tournaments.
Johnson sits 11th in the current world rankings. He has played in two Masters in his career, finishing no better than 30th in either appearance. Johnson has finished inside the top 15 in his last three major championships. In 2011, Johnson has been up and down. He has three top 10’s and two missed cuts through eight events.
Kuchar seems to be the better play as he has been steady and consistent, but Johnson has the potential to win the event by multiple shots is he is hitting the ball straight. His history tells you that he won’t at Augusta, but he is a good dark horse candidate to win it all.
