McDowell vs. Donald Odds
AUGUSTA, GA (TheSpread) – Two of the top European players in the world are Luke Donald and Graeme McDowell. These two will battle it out this week for a chance to win the 2011 Masters.
According to online sportsbook Sportsbook.com Donald is favored to finish better in the Masters than McDowell as Donald has odds of -150 while McDowell has matchup odds of +120.
Donald has played in the last six Masters and he has missed the cut in two of the last three tournaments. His best finish was third back in 2005. He has a total of two top 10’s at the Masters. In majors altogether, he has missed the cut in two of his last four. Donald is fourth in the world rankings and he has placed in the top 10 in his last three events, which includes one win.
McDowell has only made the cut in one of his three Masters events. His best finish was 17th back in 2009. McDowell did win the 2010 U.S. Open but he also missed the cut in two of the four majors last year. McDowell ranks fifth in the world right now and he is coming off a missed cut and a tie for 42nd in his last two tournaments. But, he still has four top 10’s in 2011.
Neither of these golfers has great history at the Masters, but Donald seems to be the better golfer right now. McDowell has hit a snag in his game and he has struggled mightily at Augusta. The safe play to me is with Donald, who I would expect to contend to win the tournament.
