Dubai Desert Classic 2nd Rd. Odds
DUBAI, UAE (TheSpread) – The first round of the 2011 Omega Dubai Desert Classic is complete and one of the youngest in the field has a two-stroke lead.
Rory McIlroy shot a 7-under 65 on Thursday to take a two-shot lead over Sergio Garcia and Thomas Aiken. McIlroy is now the favorite to win the event with 2/1 odds to win according to online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com. Other short odds to win are Martin Kaymer (4/1), Lee Westwood (8/1), Tiger Woods (10/1), and Garcia (10/1).
Kaymer and Westwood each shot a 3-under 69 in their opening rounds to finish tied for 10th place while Woods shot a 1-under 71 to finish tied for 27th place.
Garcia was a mild surprise as he hasn’t been a real factor in the golfing world as of late, but with three rounds to play, there is still plenty of room for error.
