Sabbatini wins by one shot
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (TheSpread) – Rory Sabbatini won his first PGA event since 2009 on Sunday as he emerged as the winner of a competitive 2011 Honda Classic.
Sabbatini shot just an even-pair 70 on Sunday, to finish at -9 for the tournament, which was one shot ahead of Y.E. Yang, who scored a 4-under 66 in the final round.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Sabbatini had 25/1 odds to win this tournament, meaning a $100 wager on him will pay out an additional $2,500.
The tournament was difficult for many golfers as just 13 finished under par for the event. Pre-event favorite Luke Donald finished tied for 10th at 1-under par while Lee Westwood, another pre-event favorite, finished tied for 29th at +4 overall.
