PGA Tournament of Champions Picks
KAPALUA, HI (TheSpread) – The 2011 PGA Hyundai Tournament of Champions begins play on Thursday morning and here are three picks to consider for the tournament.
Geoff Ogilvy 8/1
It is tough to stay away from Ogilvy as he has won this tournament the last two years. Ogilvy is ranked 27th in the world and coming off a strong finish to 2010, where he finished in the top 10 in four of his last six events, which included one win. With 8/1 odds, Ogilvy isn’t a bad pick for this weekend.
Graeme McDowell 10/1
McDowell is the top-ranked player of anyone in the field as he comes in at fifth in the world rankings. McDowell had a tremendous 2010 season, winning the U.S. Open, which was one of four victories last year. McDowell hasn’t missed a cut in his eight tournaments and if you are looking for a pick that will be in the hunt on Sunday, McDowell may be your safest bet.
Ian Poulter 15/1
Poulter also had a strong finish to 2010 as he jumped up to 11th. Poulter finished in the top 6 of his last four events of the year, which included one victory. He had two wins last year and placed in the top 15 of seven of his last eight events. With 15/1 odds, Poulter is a good dark horse pick for this tournament.
