Wilson wins Sony Open
KAPALUA, HI (TheSpread) – Mark Wilson won his third career PGA event on Sunday as he won the 2011 Sony Open by two strokes.
Wilson shot a 3-under 67 on Sunday to finish at -16 for the tournament to hold off Tim Clark and Steve Marino, who finished tied for second at 14-under overall
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Wilson had 40/1 odds to win the event, meaning a $100 bet on Byrd will pay out an additional, $4,000.
Clark made the biggest jump up the leaderboard during the final round as he shot a 6-under 64 on Sunday, but it wasn’t quite enough to get the win.
Pre-event favorite, Steve Stricker, finished tied for ninth for the tournament at -10 after shooting a 4-under 66 on Sunday.
