Watson wins in a playoff
AVONDALE, LA (TheSpread) – It took two extra holes, but Bubba Watson eventually won the 2011 Zurich Classic on Sunday, besting Webb Simpson for the title.
Both golfers shot a 3-under 69 on Sunday to finish the tournament at -15 overall. The two played two playoff holes before Watson birdied his way to a victory.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, Watson had 25/1 odds to win the tournament, meaning a $100 wager on him will pay out an additional $2,500.
Simpson and Watson each finished two shots ahead of a group of three that finished at -13 for the tournament.
Pre-event favorite, Luke Donald, finished -10 for the tournament after shooting a 3-under 69 on Sunday. Donald ended up tied for eighth.
