Frazar wins in playoff
MEMPHIS, TN (TheSpread) – After a lengthy playoff, Harrison Frazar became the surprise winner of the 2011 St. Jude Classic, as he beat Robert Karlsson after a three-hole playoff.
Frazar and Karlsson each finished the golf tournament at -13, which was five shots ahead of the next golfer. Both men had chances to win outright, but bogied holes late in the final round. In the playoff, Karlsson bogied the third hole, which opened the door for Frazar to win.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog, Frazar was part of The Field that had 5/2 odds to win, that means a $100 wager on the field will pay out an additional $250.
Five golfers tied for third place at -8 overall. That group was led by Camilo Villegas, who shot a 6-under 64 on Sunday.
