Stricker wins The Memorial
DUBLIN, OH (TheSpread) – In a big performance on a big stage, Steve Stricker emerged from a competitive field to win the 2011 Memorial Golf Tournament.
Stricker finished the tournament at 16-under par after shooting a 4-under 68 on Sunday. He finished one shot ahead of Brandt Jobe and Matt Kuchar, who each shot a 7-under 65 on Sunday to finish the tournament at -15.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog, Stricker had 22/1 odds to win this week’s tournament, meaning a $100 wager on Stricker will pay out an additional $2,200.
The top 10 of the tournament were among some of the best in the world, including pre-event favorite and current No. 1 ranked golfer, Luke Donald, who finished tied for seventh at -8.
