Choi wins Players in a playoff
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – It was another week with another playoff on the PGA Tour and this time, K.J. Choi bested David Toms to win the 2011 Players Championship.
Both golfers finished the tournament at -13 overall after each shot a 2-under 70 in the final round. On the first playoff hole, Toms came up short on a putt to extend the playoff, which allowed Choi to get the win.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, Choi had 40/1 odds to win the tournament, meaning a $100 wager on Choi will pay out an additional $4,000.
Both golfers finished two shots ahead of Paul Goydos, who came in third at -11 for the tournament. Our pick to win this week, Luke Donald, finished tied for fourth at -10 along with Nick Watney.
