Jacobson gets first tour win
CROMWELL, CT (TheSpread) – Fredrik Jacobson got his first PGA Tour win on Sunday, as he held off a low-scoring field to win the 2011 Travelers Championship.
Jacobson shot a 4-under 66 on Sunday to finish at -20 for the tournament. He finished one shot ahead of John Rollins and Ryan Moore, who each shot a 7-under 63 on Sunday to finish at -19 for the tournament.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog, Jacobson had 40/1 odds to win the tournament, meaning a $100 wager on Jacobson will pay out an additional $4,000.
Sunday didn’t feature a lot of big names competing for the title, as many of the top 10 were relatively new to competing for a win. Pre-event favorite, Hunter Mahan, finished tied for 43rd place after finishing the tournament at -8 overall.
