WGC Cadillac Championship Picks
MIAMI, FL (TheSpread) – The 2011 WGC Cadillac Championship tees off Thursday morning and has a very competitive field. Here are some plays to consider for this tournament.
In terms of individuals to look out for, I like Paul Casey. According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com, Casey has 10/1 odds to win the tournament. Casey finished sixth in this tournament last year and he also has finished in the top 20 of all but one tournament this year, including one victory. Casey is up to seventh in the world rankings and his style should work out well for this tournament.
In terms of matchups, I like Martin Kaymer (-150) over Tiger Woods (+100). Woods has had success in this tournament but he is rapidly dropping back in the world rankings, while Kaymer has quickly ascended to the No. 1 rankings. Kaymer has finished in the top 10 in three of his last six events, including a first and second place finish.
Another matchup I like is Lee Westwood (-120) over Steve Stricker (-130). Westwood hasn’t been all that strong this year, but still has finished inside the top 30 in his last three tournaments while Stricker has been shaky, finishing no better than 29th in his last three tournament. Stricker seems to have hit a slow patch while Westwood has been steady enough to be a competitor.
