Zurich Classic Odds to Win
AVONDALE, LA (TheSpread) – After nearly earning the top spot in the world rankings last week, Luke Donald hopes to find a way to get there this week when he competes in the 2011 Zurich Classic.
Donald is the favorite to win this event according to online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com as he has 9/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Nick Watney (12/1), Steve Stricker (18/1), and Justin Rose (22/1).
Donald ranks third in the world but is just a few decimal points behind Lee Westwood for the top spot. Donald finished second at The Heritage last week and he has now placed in the top 10 of his last five events overall and in 10 of his last 12 tournaments.
Watney won this tournament in 2007. He is currently ranked 14th in the world. After starting the year with five top 10’s in five events, Watney has failed to crack the top 10 in his last two tournaments.
Stricker is ninth in the current world rankings. He has finished in the top 10 in three of eight events he has played in this year.
Justine Rose ranks 25th in the world currently. He has had a run of three straight tournaments of placing 11th or better. Overall he has finished in the top 25 in eight of his nine tournaments in 2011. Rose placed 43rd in this event last year.
