Woods can’t beat Rock
ABU DHABI (TheSpread) – Tiger Woods held the lead in the HSBC Championship entering the final round on Sunday, but it was Robert Rock that emerged with the title.
Rock shot just a 2-under 70 to win the title with a final score of -13 while Woods shot an even-par 72 to finish two shots back at 11-under par. Rory McIlroy found himself in second placed at 12-under after shooting a 3-under 69 on Sunday.
According to oddsmakers, Robert Rock had 100/1 odds to win this tournament meaning a $100 wager on Rock will pay out an additional $10,000. Woods came into the tournament with 8/1 odds to win.
Woods struggled with his driver on Sunday, hitting a number of wayward shots off the tee. He recorded three bogeys on the round.
Woods finished the event tied for third with Graeme McDowell and Thomas Bjorn.
