Woods gets a PGA Tour win
ORLANDO, FL (TheSpread) – It took three years, but Tiger Woods finally won again on the PGA Tour, as on Sunday he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational by five shots.
Woods won this tournament for the seventh time following a 2-under 70 on Sunday to put him at -13 for the tournament, five shot ahead of Graeme McDowell, who finished at -8 overall.
According to oddsmakers, Woods had 8/1 odds to win this event, meaning a $100 wager on him to win will pay out an additional $800.
Woods was steady all weekend, but a 7-under 65 in the second round is what really setup his victory. He tied for the top Sunday round of any golfer that finished in the top 10.
This was Woods first event since withdrawing from a tournament a few weeks back due to an Achilles injury. Woods appears set to make a run at the Masters, which takes place in two weeks.
