Mickelson comes from 6 back to win
PEBBLE BEACH, CA (TheSpread) – Phil Mickelson wasn’t on the radar to win the 2012 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Sunday, but that is just what he did.
Mickelson was six shot behind Kevin Na for the lead entering the final round, but he posted an 8-under 64 on Sunday while Na shot an even-par 72. Mickelson ended up winning at 17-under par while Wi finished 15-under and in second place.
According to oddsmakers, Mickelson had 20/1 odds to win this year’s Pebble Beach Pro-AM, meaning a $100 wager on Mickelson will pay out an additional $2,000.
Tiger Woods was in the hunt entering the weekend, but he struggled once again on Sunday, shooting a 3-over 75 to end up 8-under for the tournament and in a tie for 15th place.
Coming in third place on the tournament was Ricky Barnes, who shot a 5-under 67 on Sunday to finish 13-under for the tournament.
