McIlroy wins again
CARMEL, IN (TheSpread) – Rory McIlroy continued his recent dominance on the PGA Tour on Sunday as he won the BMW Championship for his second straight victory.
McIlroy shot a 5-under 67 on Sunday to climb to -20 for the tournament. He won by two shots over the likes of Lee Westwood and Phil Mickelson, who each shot -18 for the tournament.
McIlroy came into this week’s event with 13/2 odds to win, which means a wager of $100 on McIlroy will pay out an additional $750.
Tiger Woods was once again near the top of the leaderboard, but not quite good enough to win. Woods shot a 4-under 68 on Sunday and finished -17 for the tournament, which put him in a tie for fourth.
The win for McIlroy gives him a dominant lead in the FedEx Cup standings. He leads Woods by 3,232 points with one playoff event remaining.
