Updated British Open Odds
LANCASHIRE, England (TheSpread) – The first round of the 2012 British Open is complete and has plenty of big names on top of the leaderboard. Here is an updated look at the odds.

According to oddsmakers, Tiger Woods is still the favorite to win this event, as he has 4/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (7/1), Adam Scott (7/1), and Zach Johnson (10/1).
Woods is part of a group that sits in a tie for sixth place at -3 overall after shooting a 67 on Thursday. Woods actually led the tournament at one point as he was 4-under through seven holes, but he had a very uneventful finish to his round.
McIlroy also posted a 3-under 67 on Thursday. He is one of eight golfers that are tied for sixth currently. McIlroy battled through bad weather conditions in the afternoon, while most of the top scorers got out in the morning.
Adam Scott is the leader all by himself at 6-under, 64. Scott was one of the first to play his round on Thursday and he is leading a major tournament for the first time after the completion of a round. He is seeking his first major championship.
Johnson shot a 5-under 65 on Thursday. He is tied with two other golfers in second place. Johnson is coming off a win last week on the PGA Tour and seeking his second major championship.
The British Open continues on Friday, July 20 and will run through Sunday, July 22 from Royal Lytham in Lancashire, England. For complete odds for each golfer to win the British Open, see below.
