Dufner wins again
IRVING, TX (TheSpread) – Jason Dufner picked up his second win in three weeks as he prevailed in the HP Byron Nelson Championship on Sunday.
Dufner shot a 3-under 67 on Sunday to beat Dicky Pride by one shot at -11 overall. Dufner made a 25-foot putt on the final hole to win the title.
According to oddsmakers, Dufner had 22/1 odds to win this week’s tournament, which means a wager of $100 on Dufner will pay out an additional $2,200.
Pride shot a 67 on Sunday as well to finish at -10 and would have been in a playoff had Dufner not made a lengthy putt on the final hole.
Phil Mickelson flirted with contending for the title, as he shot a 4-under 66 on Sunday, but a few missed short putts cost him and he ended up in a tie for seventh at -6 overall.
