Johnson outdoes Dufner
FORTH WORTH, TX (TheSpread) – Jason Dufner nearly got his third win in four events, but eventually came up short to Zach Johnson at the 2012 Crowne Plaza Invitational.
Dufner came into Sunday’s final round with a one shot lead, but posted a 4-over 74 on Sunday thanks to a double bogey and triple bogey throughout the round.
Dufner finished the tournament at -11, while Johnson finished at -14 overall after shooting an even-par 70 on Sunday. This was his second victory at this event in his career.
According to oddsmakers, Johnson had 12/1 odds to win this event, meaning a $100 wager on him to win will pay out an additional $1,200.
Dufner and Johnson were the only true challengers for this title as third place was Tommy Gainey, who came in at -7 overall.
