LA QUINTA, CA (TheSpread) – The Humana Challenge begins play on Thursday and features three different golf courses. Here is a look at the odds for this PGA Tour event.

This week’s tournament will take place from Arnold Palmer Private Course, Jack Nicklaus Private Course, and La Quinta Country Club all located in California.

Oddsmakers have made Matt Kuchar the favorite to win this tournament with 15/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Phil Mickelson (16/1), Dustin Johnson (18/1), and Bill Haas (20/1).

Kuchar is 11^th in the world rankings and he has finished in the top 25 in 13 of his last 16 tournaments, missing the cut in the three that he didn’t finish in the top 25. He finished seventh in this event last year and second in 2010.

Mickelson won this tournament in 2004 and 2002. He is currently 15^th in the world rankings. He has just two top 10’s in his last eight tournaments. He didn’t compete in this tournament last year.

Johnson is eighth in the world rankings, tops of any golfer in the field. But, Johnson is coming off a knee injury to end last season. This is his first tournament of 2012 and he has just one top 10 in his last eight events. He has not played in this event in recent years.

Haas won this tournament in 2010 and he is currently 24^th in the world rankings. Haas has one top 10 in his last 11 tournaments. He placed second in last year’s event in defense of his title.

The 2012 Humana Challenge is played at four difference courses around in La Quinta, California and will run from Thursday, Jan. 19 to Sunday, Jan. 22.
