2012 Masters Predictions
AUGUSTA, GA (ATS Consultants) – The 76th Masters from Augusta starts on Thursday, April 5 and goes through Sunday, April 8.
The best players in the world have their eyes on the green jacket during the first major of the year in golf. Last year, Charl Schwartzel shocked the golfing world by winning as at 30-1. The was the first and only win of the year on the PGA Tour for the South African, but he had a pretty successful season, posting three Top 10s in his 16 events last year.

This year, Schwartzel has posted two Top 5 finishes. Tigers Woods comes in as the 4-1 favorite after winning at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club two weeks ago and has crept back into the world’s top 6. Tiger came fourth at Augusta the past two years playing average golf for him. Tiger has won the Masters four times but has not won since 1995.
The young Irishman has finished out the top 10 just once since winning the PGA Championship last August. In five starts this year, he has not finished outside the top five, which includes a win at last month’s Honda Classic. And how could anybody forget his collapse at last year’s Masters after shooting an 80 on the final day.
Mickelson won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pr-Am after rallying from six back, winning with a final round score of 8-under. He had a second place finish at the Northern Trust Open and last week, tied for fourth at the Shell Houston Open. So Mickelson is playing well going into this tournament. He’s a three-time Masters champion and when he’s playing well and has the momentum, he’s should be in the mix at Augusta.
The South African now living in England is ninth in the world but has never won a major. He won the WGC-Cadillac Championship this year and had two other top five finishes. He has four PGA Tour wins, three second-place finishes and six third-place finishes. He ranks 4th in scoring average on the PGA Tour with 69.67.
