PACIFIC PALISADES, CA (TheSpread) – Phil Mickelson is coming off a win last weekend and he is now the favorite to win the 2012 Northern Trust Open.

According to oddsmakers, Mickelson has 10/1 odds to win this week’s tournament while other short odds to win are Luke Donald (15/1), Dustin Johnson (18/1), and Jason Day (25/1).

Mickelson won this event in 2009 and 2008. He is 11^th in the current world rankings following his win. It was his first top 10 finish in his last five events. Mickelson finished 35^th in this event last year.

Donald is first in the world rankings. He is coming off a 48^th-place effort, which snapped a 13-tournament streak of finishing in the top 20. Donald missed the cut in this event last year.

Johnson is 10^th in the world rankings and he is coming off a fifth-place finish last weekend. Johnson missed the cut in last year’s tournament.

Jason Day is seventh in the world rankings and he has placed 15^th or better in five of the last six tournaments he has played in. Day also missed the cut in last year’s tournament.

The 2012 Northern Trust Open is played at the Riviera Country Club and will begin on Feb. 16 and finish up on Sunday, Feb. 19. For complete odds for each golfer at the event, see below.
