PGA Arnold Palmer Invitational Picks
Orlando, FL (The Spread) – The PGA Tour remains in Florida this week for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Martin Laird defends the title and Tiger Woods is set to start coming off an injury.
Woods was playing well before a suffering a leg injury at the WGC-Cadillac Championship. He’s been a winner here six times. He seems to have recovered from his injured Achilles tendon and, if that’s the case, he’ll surely be in the running this week. Due to personal problems, swing changes and injury, he has not won on the PGA Tour since 2009. This will be the last tune-up for Tiger before the Masters in two weeks.
The seventh-ranked player in the world is finally getting some respect. Justin Rose won at the WGC-Cadillac two weeks ago and last week, he co-led the field in greens in regulation at the Transitions where he placed T29. He ranks 19th on Tour in greens in regulation, eighth in the all-around and 14th in bogey avoidance. Rose shared third place here last year.
The 10th-ranked player in the world has played pretty well here and could be nearing his first win. Hunter Mahan has six top 10s with the win at the WGC-Accenture Match Play in his last 12 official starts worldwide. He’s currently second on Tour in total driving, 15th in greens hit and 17th in the all-around. He has top 25s in three of his last four starts at Bay Hill.
