Tiger wins again
BETHESDA, MD (TheSpread) – Tiger Woods gave golf fans something to be excited about on Sunday as he picked up another tour win, as he prevailed in the AT&T National.
Woods came into the final round one shot off the lead and shot a 2-under 69 on Sunday to hold off Bo Van Pelt for the lead. Woods finished the tournament 8-under overall while Van Pelt was 6-under. The two were tied heading into the final two holes of play.
According to oddsmakers, Tiger Woods was the favorite with 11/2 odds to win this which, which means a $100 wager on him to win will pay out an additional $550.
Brendon de Jonge came into Sunday with the lead, but struggled all day, shooting a 6-over 77 to finish 1-under overall and in a tie for 11th place.
With the win, Woods is now second all-time in PGA victories with 74. He only trails Sam Snead, who has 82. Woods has two wins on the year and three in his last 12 tournaments.
