2012 PGA Honda Classic Odds To Win: Rory McIlroy Favored

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (TheSpread) – The 2012 PGA Tour is in for a treat this week as a number of top golfers will compete in The Honda Classic.

According to oddsmakers, Rory McIlroy is the favorite to win this event, as he has been given 8/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Lee Westwood (9/1) and Tiger Woods (10/1).

McIlroy is second in the world rankings and knocking on the door of the top spot. He finished second in last week’s match play championship and has finished in the top five in nine of his last 10 tournament, with the 10^th tournament being an 11^th-place finish. McIlroy did struggle in this event last year, placing 70^th.

Westwood is third in the world rankings and he has been on a nice run as of last as well. He has finished in the top 20 in seven of his last eight and in the top five in four of his last seven.  Westwood finished 29^th in this event last year.

Woods is 21^st in the world rankings. He has shown improvement from a poor 2011, by placing in the top 15 in four of his last five events. Woods has not competed in this even in recent years.

The Honda Classic takes place from Thursday, March 1 to Sunday, March 4 from The Champion Course at PGA Nation Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. For complete odds for each golfer to win the PGA Honda Classic, see below.
