Updated Ryder Cup Odds
MEDINAH, IL (TheSpread) – The Ryder Cup is down to its final day of play and the United States is comfortably ahead.
Another set of eight matches were played on Saturday, and just like Friday, the U.S. had a 5-3 edge in those matches, making the current total score, 10-6.
On Sunday, there will be 12 individual matches, with each going for one point. A tie results in a ½ point for each team. The U.S. needs just 4 ½ of those 12 points to win the Ryder Cup.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the United States now is the overwhelming favorite to win the Ryder Cup. The Americans have odds of -1000 to win, while Europe has a money line of +900, and a tie is listed at +1600.
Saturday opened with the U.S. winning 3 of the 4 alternate shot matches. The team of Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson once again put on a show, beating Lee Westwood and Luke Donald 7&6.
In the afternoon best ball matches, the teams split 2-2. The U.S. team of Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker lost again, falling 1-up to Europe’s Sergio Garcia and Donald. Woods and Stricker went 0-3 in team play, giving Europe 3 of its 6 points.
