Wagner wins 2012 Sony Open
HONOLULU, HI (TheSpread) – Johnson Wagner got his 2012 season off to a good start on Sunday, as he picked up a two-shot win in the 2012 Sony Open.
Wagner didn’t have to do too much in the final round, as he shot just a 3-under 67, but that was enough to get the victory over four other golfers, as he finished at -13 for the tournament.
The victory was Wagner’s third of his PGA career. Oddsmakers gave him 125/1 odds to win the title coming into the tournament, meaning a wager of $100 will pay out an additional $12,500.
Matt Every came into the final round with the lead, as he was 12-under par. But, Every shot a 2-over 270 on Sunday to fall back to -10 overall for the tournament, which put him in a tie for sixth place with three other golfers.
